Play suspended at Zurich with four tied for lead

Woody Austin, Nicholas Thompson, Peter Lonard and Briny Baird topped the Zurich Classic leaderboard at 8 under Saturday when rain, lightning and thunder forced the suspension of third-round play. Play was stopped at 1:48 p.m., then called off for the day at 5:35 p.m. The 46 players unable to finish will try to complete the round Sunday morning. "We think we can get it all in, but everyone will have to keep moving," PGA Tour media official Joan Alexander said.

Westwood leads Andalucia Open after 66

Lee Westwood shot a 6-under par 66 Saturday for a one shot lead at the Andalucia Open. The defending champion had birdies at the first five holes to move to the top of the leaderboard with a three-day total of 12-under 204. "I'm going to play a round under the pressure of trying to win tomorrow, and that's what I wanted," Westwood said. The English Ryder Cup player sank putts of six, 12, 15 and eight feet by the fourth and two-putted from 20-feet at the par-5 fifth.

Big names miss cut at Masters tune-up tourney

Briny Baird really wanted to go fishing Monday. That's his usual routine at the Zurich Classic, but bad weather kept him off the water. Now good golf will keep him on dry land this weekend. Baird shot a 3-under 69 on Friday in the second round to take a one-stroke lead over Peter Lonard (70) and Jay Williamson (69) at the TPC Louisiana. "It didn't feel quite as good as probably the scorecard will make out," Baird said. "I didn't play as well today.

Nielsen leads Langer, Funk on Champions Tour

Lonnie Nielsen, a career club professional who had a mediocre PGA Tour career, birdied six of his last 10 holes Friday for a 6-under 66 and one-stroke lead in the Ginn Championship. Bernhard Langer and Fred Funk opened with 67s on the Ocean Hammock Golf Club course, and David Edwards and Gene E. Jones had 68s in the Champions Tour's deepest field this season. Former Masters champion Craig Stadler was among those at 69 and defending champion Keith Fergus and Tom Watson were at 70.

Hedblom, Millar share Andalucia lead

Peter Hedblom of Sweden and Matthew Millar of Australia shared the lead by one stroke after the second round of the Andalucia Open on Friday. Hedblom shot an 8-under 67 and Millar had a 69 to total 8-under 136 at Aloha Golf Club. Robert Dinwiddie of England (65), Thomas Levet of France (68) and David Lynn of England (67) are tied for third. Defending champion Lee Westwood (73) is one of seven golfers a further shot back at 138.
