Argentina's Andres Romero won the Zurich Classic in his 12th career start on the PGA Tour, closing with a 4-under 68 on Sunday for a one-stroke victory over Australia's Peter Lonard.
Romero, a shot behind John Merrick on Sunday morning after the completion of the third round, had a 13-under 275 total on the TPC Louisiana and earned $1,116,000.
Lonard had a chance to force a playoff, but missed a long birdie putt on 18.
Lonard opened with a pair birdies, bogeyed Nos.
Ochoa goes low for Safeway International repeatSunday, March 30th, 2008
Lorena Ochoa shot a final-round 6-under 66 Sunday and successfully defend her title at the Safeway International with a dominating seven-stroke victory.
The 26-year-old, with three big flags from her native Mexico waving in the crowd, finished at 22-under 266 to win for the second time in three tries on the U.S. women's tour this season.
It was the lowest score, by four shots, in the five years the tournament has been held at Superstition Mountain Golf and Country Club.

Bernhard Langer won the Ginn Championship for his second Champions Tour victory in three starts, shooting a 1-under 71 in windy conditions Sunday for an eight-stroke victory over Lonnie Nielsen and Tim Simpson.
Langer had one of three under-par rounds, with the wind off the Atlantic Ocean a sustained 25 mph and the temperature in 50s. The German star finished at 12-under 204 and earned $375,000 for his third victory in 11 career starts on the 50-and-over tour.

Ernie Els withdrew from the Houston Open on Sunday because of a virus, giving him an unexpected two weeks off before going to the Masters.
"I am very disappointed to have been forced to make this decision because I was really looking forward to playing this week," Els said in a statement. "The Shell Houston Open was going to be an important part of my buildup toward the Masters, but I have been advised that it would not be in my best interests to play.
Levet beats Fisher in Andalucia Open playoffSunday, March 30th, 2008
Thomas Levet won the Andalucia Open on the first playoff hole Sunday, defeating teenager Oliver Fisher.
Levet parred the extra hole after the 19-year-old Fisher, who held a three-stroke lead with six holes to play, had bogeyed. Both players shot 5-under 67s in the final round to finish at 16-under 272.
Defending champion Lee Westwood had a final-round 71 to finish three strokes back in third, and Alexander Noren and Patrick Sjoland shot 69s Sunday to finish tied for fourth at 276.
Ochoa fires 68, leads Safeway InternationalSaturday, March 29th, 2008
Lorena Ochoa moved into position for her second straight Safeway International victory and second win three starts this year, shooting a 4-under 68 on Saturday to take the third-round lead.
After outdueling close friend Angela Stanford on Saturday, Ochoa will be paired with Jee Young Lee on Sunday at Superstition Mountain Golf and Country Club.
"It'll be a fun day," said Ochoa, a stroke ahead of Stanford and Lee.
"She (Lee) hits the ball very far. She jokes to me she beats me with the driver.
