Bernhard Langer withdrew from the Deutsche Bank Players' Championship on Thursday after undergoing an operation to remove a kidney stone.
The 49-year-old Langer woke up in considerable pain on Wednesday and was taken to a hospital in Hamburg for the operation, the PGA European Tour Web site said.
Langer, who won the tournament in 1995 and has 42 European tour titles, was replaced by Jesus Maria Arruti of Spain. Read the Full Story Here

Stroke-play medalist Kimberly Kim rallied to consecutive wins on Wednesday, the first day of match play at the U.S Girls' Junior Championship.
Kim, 15 trailed early during both matches on the 6,363-yard course at Tacoma Country and Golf Club. At one point in her morning match, she trailed by three holes. But she resumed her impressive week by rallying to win 4 and 3 over Amy Ruengmateekhun, and then by 5 and 3 in the afternoon over Tessa Teachman. Read the Full Story Here

Seung Yul Noh shot a 4-under-par 67 on Tuesday and secured the top seed in match play at the U.S. Junior Amateur Championship.
The 16-year-old player from Korea finished with a two-day total of 136 after 36 holes at Boone Valley Golf Club. He was two strokes ahead of Hunter Hamrick of Montgomery, Ala., and three better than James White of Acworth, Ga.

Michelle Wie accepted a sponsor's exemption Tuesday to play in the Safeway Classic next month.
The 17-year-old Wie is continuing her course of playing as many times as the LPGA allows: eight. The Safeway Classic on Aug. 24-26 would be her seventh event, with her final tournament expected to be the Samsung World Championship at Bighorn in October.
Wie has been hampered this year by wrist injuries, but is looking forward to returning to the Columbia-Edgewater Country Club. Read the Full Story Here

James White had a 5-under 66 Monday to take a three-shot lead after the first day of stroke play at the U.S. Junior Amateur Championship.
White, 17, of Acworth, Ga., had four consecutive birdies to close out the front nine and eagled the 606-yard, par-5 14th hole. He finished with one eagle, five birdies and two bogeys at the 6,894-yard Boone Valley Golf Club. Read the Full Story Here
