Loren Roberts had his low round of the year, a 7-under-par 64 Friday, to take a one-stroke lead over Eduardo Romero after the first round of the Commerce Bank Championship.
A powerful thunderstorm passed right over the Red Course at Eisenhower Park on Thursday night, damaging a few trees and knocking down a scoreboard and a hospitality tent just behind the 18th green. Crews worked through the night, and Friday's round got off on time. Read the Full Story Here

Simon Khan took a one-stroke lead Friday at the French Open after shooting a second round 67 to move an overall 5-under.
Paul McGinley of Ireland shot 69, and Colin Montgomerie of Scotland ended with 70, to tie for second place.
"I hit the ball well yesterday (Thursday)," Khan said. "Today I played even better, finding the fairways and the greens. I took my chance today, notably by sinking a few putts from four meters (yards). Read the Full Story Here

Rocco Mediate's back is healthy and so is his game.
Mediate shot his lowest score on the PGA Tour in four years, opening the Buick Open on Thursday with an 8-under 64 for a one-stroke lead.

South African qualifier James Kamte and Welshman Kyron Sullivan each shot 6-under par 65s to share the opening day lead at the French Open on Thursday.
A stroke behind were England's Benn Barham and Graeme Storm, and Sweden's Steven Jeppesen and Christian Nilsson on the par-71 National Golf Albatross course on the outskirts of Paris.
Kamte eagled the third hole and added five birdies.

Bruce Vaughan hasn't had much to celebrate this season. The last two days sure made up for that.
Vaughan qualified for a Champions Tour event on Tuesday with an 8-under 64 that included an ace on the 14th hole of the White Course at Eisenhower Park. He was so excited to get into the Commerce Bank Championship that he went back to the hotel to call his wife. Read the Full Story Here
