Laird wins Athens Regional Foundation Classic

Scotland's Martin Laird won his first Nationwide Tour title Sunday, birdieing the final hole for a one-stroke victory over Justin Bolli and Jeremy Anderson in the Athens Regional Foundation Classic. Laird completed the wire-to-wire victory with a 3-under 69 for a 16-under 272 total on the Jennings Mill Country Club course. "To win wire-to-wire and to win with a birdie on the last hole when I needed it is extra satisfying," Laird said.

Woods plays Oakmont for the first time

Tiger Woods got his first look at Oakmont Country Club on Sunday as he began preparations for the U.S. Open. Woods played the back nine early Sunday morning with members and swing coach Hank Haney, then stopped for lunch and played the front nine in the afternoon. The U.S. Open, to be played June 13-16, returns to Oakmont for the first time since 1994. It is one of the few classic championship courses in the United States that Woods had not played. He first qualified for the U.S.

Haas beats Kite in playoff to win Legends again

Defending champion Jay Haas won the Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf on Sunday, making up four shots in the final eight holes before beating Tom Kite in a playoff for his second Champions Tour victory this season. "I certainly didn't think I'd be here," Haas said. "Everything just happened so quickly." He closed with a 2-under-par 70 for a three-round total of 207, then won on the first extra hole for his eighth senior circuit victory. Kite (68) had been 3-0 in senior playoffs.

Jacquelin goes wire to wire to win Asian Open

Raphael Jacquelin of France led from start to finish to win the Asian Open by two strokes Sunday for his second European Tour victory. Jacquelin shot a 1-over 73 in the storm-affected final round to finish at 10 under for the tournament, co-sanctioned by the European and Asian tours. The win is redemption for last week's China Open, also in Shanghai, where Jacquelin seized the lead after the second round only to have it slip away.

Watney seeking maiden win at Zurich Classic

Jacquelin holds one-stroke at Asian Open

Scott Hend of Australia shot a 5-under 67 at the Asian Open on Saturday to move within one stroke of leader Raphael Jacquelin of France. Overnight leader Jacquelin had four birdies against two bogies for a 70 and an 11-under 211 through three rounds at the Tomson Shanghai Pudong Golf Club.

With pregnant wife on bed rest, Duval sits

Haas on track to defend Legends title

Defending champion Jay Haas shot a 3-under-par 69 Saturday, giving him a one-stroke lead over Brad Bryant, Wayne Levi and Mark James entering the final round of the Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf. Haas, seeking his second victory of the season, was at 7-under 137 after three rounds at The Club at Savannah Harbor. Bryant, who also shot 69, said the 7,087-yard island layout perfectly suits Haas.

Jacquelin stays in front for second straight day

Overnight leader Raphael Jacquelin of France shot a 3-under- 69 to open up a three-stroke lead Friday over South Korea's Lee Sung heading into the second half of the Asian Open. Jacquelin collected five birdies against two bogeys to finish at nine-under 135, a virtual replay of last week's China Open where he led after the second round before slipping out of contention. "I am going to play exactly the same," said Jacquelin, runner up at last month's Estoril Open de Portugal.
