Two years ago, Annika Sorenstam erased a four-stroke deficit with three holes to play and took the Safeway International from Lorena Ochoa in a playoff.
Sorenstam is chasing Ochoa again at the picturesque Superstition Mountain Golf and Country Club.
Ochoa made two eagles and had a three-stroke lead halfway through the weather-disrupted tournament.

Daniel Vancsik had four birdies Saturday to take the lead after the third round of the Madeira Islands Open.
The Argentine shot a 4-under 68, giving him a 14-under total of 202.
Vancsik was four shots ahead of Mads Vibe-Hastrup, who birdied five holes to also finish with a 68 and a three-round total of 206. Christian Cevaer (72) was one stroke behind Vibe-Hastrup after bogeys on the 16th and 17th holes.

Lorena Ochoa made two eagles to take a one-stroke lead over Catriona Matthew in the suspended second round of the Safeway International on Friday.
The Mexican star was 9 under with four holes remaining when play was suspended because of darkness. She will have a 12-foot putt for birdie on the par-4 15th hole when play resumes on Saturday.
"I'm in a good position where I like to be," Ochoa said.
Matthew was 8 under through 17 holes, twice making chips for birdies. Read the Full Story Here

Daniel Vancsik of Argentina shot a 6-under 66 Friday for a one-shot lead halfway through the Madeira Islands Open.
Vancsik had five birdies and eagled the 11th hole on his way to a 10-under 134. He's one shot better than Frenchman Christian Cevaer, who tied David Frost for the low round of the day with a 65. Read the Full Story Here

Catriona Matthew showed no signs of rust after taking a seven-month break from the U.S. LPGA Tour to give birth to her first child.
On a blustery day that must have reminded her of her native Scotland, Matthew shot a 4-under 68 for a share of the lead with Young Jo in the suspended first round of the Safeway International on Thursday.

Brendan Pappas missed a chance shoot the fourth 59 in Nationwide Tour history, parring the final two holes for an 11-under 60 on Thursday in the first round of the Louisiana Open.

One month after Henrik Stenson captured his first World Golf Championship, he looks as if he's ready for another. Stenson shot a 5-under 67 on Thursday to share the first-round lead with Robert Allenby in the CA Championship.
