Hull earns first LPGA titleAugust 17th, 2008
Australia's Katherine Hull won the Canadian Women's Open on Sunday for her first LPGA Tour title, taking advantage of Yani Tseng's final-round meltdown for a one-stroke victory at Ottawa Hunt.
The 26-year-old Hull, six strokes behind Tseng at the start of the round, shot a 3-under 69 to finish at 11-under 277. Se Ri Pak closed with a 72 to finish second, and Tseng's 77 left her two strokes behind at 9 under.
Funk wins JELD-WEN Tradition by 3August 17th, 2008
Even with a widening lead in the final found of the JELD-WEN Tradition, Fred Funk pretended he was trailing.
"We were going down the second fairway and my caddie, Mark (Long), said 'Let's say you are four behind,"' Funk said. "We were trying to make it as if we were behind all day. Don't protect anything and fire at all the flags."
The aggressive Funk won his first Champions Tour major title, closing with a 3-under 69 on Sunday for three-stroke victory over Mike Goodes at the Crosswater Club.

Carl Pettersson won his hometown event for his first PGA Tour victory in two years, shooting a 2-under 68 on Sunday for a two-stroke victory in the Wyndham Championship.
The local favorite, former North Carolina State player and member of the tournament's board had three birdies during a four-hole stretch on the back nine, finished at 21-under 259 and earned $918,000.
Scott McCarron, who briefly led midway through the final round, shot a 68 and to finished second.
Hanson wins SAS Masters by 1 shotAugust 17th, 2008
Peter Hanson shot 1-over 71 in cold, windy and wet conditions and held on to win the SAS Masters on Sunday for his second career European PGA Tour victory.
Hanson, the first Swede to win the event since Jesper Parnevik 10 years ago, finished at 9-under 271 on the Arlandastad course north of Stockholm.
Pelle Edberg, another Swede who was Hanson's playing partner in the last group, tied for second with Nick Dougherty of England. Edberg and Dougherty shot 70.
Funk leads Champions Tour major by one strokeAugust 16th, 2008
Fred Funk moved into position for his first major victory on the Champions Tour, shooting a bogey-free 7-under 65 on Saturday to take a one-stroke lead over Jay Haas after the third round of the JELD-WEN Tradition.
The 52-year-old Funk, the winner of the season-opening MasterCard Championship in Hawaii, had a 16-under 200 total on the Crosswater Club course.
Haas, the Senior PGA Championship winner in May, shot a 66.
Pettersson follows up 61 with 66 at WyndhamAugust 16th, 2008
Carl Pettersson topped the Sedgefield Country Club leaderboard for the second straight day, following his tournament-record 61 with a 66 on Saturday to take a two-stroke lead in the Wyndham Championship.
A local fan favorite who went to high school in Greensboro and is on the tournament's board of directors, Pettersson had a 19-under 191 total. The Swede is in position to claim his third career PGA Tour victory and first since 2006.
Scott McCarron was second.
